ARKAN E ISLAM

 ARKAN E ISLAM

The act of worshipping Allah creates a connection between people and Him because Allah created humanity to be instruments of His adoration. One of the two components of worship is the act of obeying Allah in ordinary affairs, such as showing respect to parents and avoiding RIBA. The other is to carry out specific deeds that lay the groundwork for a direct dialogue between Allah and those who follow Him. In this post, we'll focus on the first section, which is essentially the five Islamic pillars.

1. Shahadah (Testimony of Faith)

The first is stating that Muhammad is Allah's Prophet while the second asserts there is no other god. This is the foundation of one belief, in fact. If a person does not attest to this truth, then he is not a member of Islam, and this declaration inspires passion to behave in accordance with Islamic teachings, to follow Holy Prophet, and to follow Holy Quran. One can stay away from sin and carry out good activities thanks to this utterance. This statement inspires a feeling of love toward Allah.

2. Namaz (Obligatory Prayers)

"Namaz" is the second rukan in Islam. Muslims perform the namaz, or act of prayer, by bowed their heads in front of Allah. Allah obligated performing Namaz five times per day. It is a gift from Allah to Muslims that He gave on the night of Mairaaj when the Beloved Prophet ascended to the heavens and places above the heavens. The Holy Quran commands Allah for Muslims to do Namaz.

3. Zakat (Compulsory Charity)

Zakah payment is the third rukan in the Arkan of Islam. Zakah is the practice of giving 2.5% of one's possessions when they reach a predetermined threshold. As Allah has allowed his servants to obtain wealth from halal sources and use it to meet their requirements, He has also commanded his servants to donate their wealth to the underprivileged and those in need. The Holy Quran mentions paying Zakah thirty-two times where Allah commands it. Zakah actually demonstrates the elegance of the Islamic social structure in that money is distributed equally among the rich and the poor and is not confined to the possession of the wealthy. Although it is the norm, it does not imply that wealthy individuals contribute to the needy by forgoing their own needs.

4. Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mecca)

The fourth rukan in Islam is the Hajj, or journey to Makkah during the last month of the Islamic year. Muslims are required to do the Hajj at least once in their lifetimes if they meet the criteria. The Hajj is an occasion to honor Muslim unity and fraternity. They all congregate on the same day, speaking the same dialect, clothing alike, and sharing a belief in Allah, the creator of them all. This manifestation of religion, harmony, and brotherhood cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

5. Sawm (Fasting in Ramadan)

The sixth rukan in Islam is fasting during Ramadan. During this month, Muslims are required to fast, which involves giving up all food, beverages, and sexual activity from sunrise to sunset. Making Allah delighted and fostering piety in our souls are the fundamental purposes of fasting. The fasting of the holy month deepens our connection to Allah. Fasting makes one aware of the plight of people compelled to live in poverty, which inspires piety and a desire to help those in need. A person who abstains from indulging in prohibited actions while fasting becomes conscious of this situation.

We beseech Allah to give us the strength to uphold these Islamic tenets. Ameen
